Vu Lan Festival 2019 at Long Son Pagoda
Khanh Hoa Provincial Managing Committee of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the morning of August 15 (lunar July 15) held the ceremony of Vu Lan Festival 2019 at Long Son Pagoda (Nha Trang). Monk Thich Ngo Tanh, Head of the provincial Managing Committee of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and many Buddhist monks, nuns, and Buddhists in and outside the province participated in the ceremony.
Vu Lan Festival, originating from a legend of Buddhism that Bodhisattva Muc Kien Lien rescued his mother from the Hell, is an occasion for children of all ages to be grateful and show their gratitude to their parents and ancestors.
Since Buddhism was introduced to Vietnam, Vu Lan Festival has become an important Buddhist festival in Vietnam.
